What's it made of?

The Plastiki is mostly made out of reclaimed plastic bottles with srPET thrown in for reinforcements (srPET is a new type of plastic). It also uses a cashew-nut glue developed specially for this mission.

What's on board?

The Plastiki will be super hi-tech, using cutting-edge communication and navigation systems. It will also contain advanced life-support systems like solar power, twin bicycle-powered generators, and a bio-garden.

How is it eco-friendly?

Everything on board is designed to be reusable and recyclable, and thanks to the use of wind-power, there are going to be zero emissions. The Journey: swap around the where are we going content with the why are we doing it content.
